2015 University and Technological and Vocation School Diverse Entrance Exhibition was held in March 7th to 8th, and took place in NTU Sports Center in Taipei and Shin Kong Mitsukoshi in Kaohsiung Zuoying at the same time. There were 80 national and private universities from Taiwan and overseas here to recruit students together. It attracted thousands of students and parents to visit this exhibition on the first day and it was so crowded. Nanhua University, from Chai Yi area, not only launched a plan about making the tuition fee became the same as national universities', but also gave out scholarships that the highest amount is up to NT$3,710,000. Especially, the chance to study abroad and 2+2 program had won students’ and parents’ favor. Many people were asking about it and this attracted many high-score-students willing to attend Nanhua University.
Since Nanhua University promoted the measure of rewarding studying abroad and the measure of rewarding the excellence and helping the weak. Recently, freshman's reporting rate was nearly 100% and registering rate was above 95%. According to the investigation, the enrollment score improved the most throughout universities in Taiwan, and also students who had middle to high scores even increased three times. Nanhua University was rewarded as teaching Excellence University and would be given a hundred million dollars in total for budget supplement for two years. The performance can said to be improving with leaps and bounds. Freshmen who will enroll Nanhua University in 2015 will all pay their tuition fee as much as the national universities. This can save about 2 hundred thousand dollars for four years and it reduces students and parent's economic burden. The University also provides the chance to study abroad and a high amount of scholarship. Students can take advantage of summer and winter vacation to study overseas for a short term, broaden international horizon and cultivate global mobility. This surely attracts many excellent students to attend Nanhua University.
Zhu-Jun Xu, who graduated from National Chia-Yi Girls' Senior High School last year, gave up national university with the grade 64 (and the top score in the entrance exam is 75) and applied for Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering in Nanhua University. Zi-Rong Lin, who graduated from Banqiao Senior High School, applied for Department of International Affairs and Business in Nanhua University as the first choice with the grade 61. Miao-Ru Xu, who graduated from Kaohsiung Municipal Kaohsiung Girls' Senior High School, was attracted by 2+2 program and Off-site Teaching Course in Cambridge University in the UK (英國劍橋大學移地教學課程), and gives up national university with the grade 53 and applied for Department of Communication in Nanhua University. Miao-Ru Xu indicated that Nanhua University, the plan about making the tuition fee became the same as national university’s and the scholarship not only helped his/her family save a lot of money, but also, the more importantly, given the chance to study abroad. The University also opened a class called “English Integrating Training”, which is 2 credits for each semester, for those who want to join the 2+2 program and strengthen English ability of reading, writing, listening, and speaking without paying extra money for English training class.
Zhu-Jun Xu thought that Nanhua University’s school spirit payed much attention to how to treat people politely and character education, “Attitude wins everything!” Professors, teachers, and course design in Nanhua University can all fight with national universities and there are more chances to study abroad than other universities. In the future, he/she will plan to take two majors and cultivate interdisciplinary ability. Zi-Rong Lin pointed out that it is cheaper to study in Nanhua than in national universities. Also, you have a chance to realize your dream to study abroad. His/Her goal is to fight for Nanhua’s 2+2 program.
President Lin, Tsong-Ming, from Nanhua University, mentioned that the chance to study abroad in Nanhua University is the best among Taiwan, and now the University is promoting the 2+2 program, which enable students to “enroll in 1 university and pick up courses from 5 universities.” 2+2 program enable students to study in Nanhua University for the first 2 years and then attend the University of the West in the USA, the Nan-Tien Institute in Australia, Fo Guang College in Manila or other oversea college to study for the other two years and then obtain credits for the other 2 years. As for the 4-year tuition, they would all be calculated as the domestic ones, which help you save about 900 thousand dollars of registration fee. As soon as you graduate, you can earn both of the two degrees. Moreover, the University will carry out oversea learning group every summer and winter vacation. For example, during the summer of 2013, 10 excellent students were given the full amount of grant for participating "Elite Oversea Learning Group to Cambridge, the UK" ; in summer of 2014, there were 31 students attend University of Cambridge in the UK, and 9 students going to University of the West in the USA having some oversea learning separately. And during the winter break in this year (2015), the University was holding the “Oversea Learning Group to Nan-Tien Institute in Australia”, and there were 6 students participating.
President Lin pointed out that once students’ English grade reached to the standard for the application, they are able to apply for the scholarship to study abroad, and there are no problems for limitations of the number of people. The University will also arrange some subsidiary courses concerning language abilities. Every year, there are more than 10% of students who apply for studying abroad. Moreover, this year (2015), Nanhua University especially established “International Business Bachelor Program.” The Goal is to cultivate talented students to become leaders in business management and professionals in finance while they can be able to make good use of English to communicate internationally. The key major courses are taught in English as the basic principle. Juniors and seniors are tutored to study in the oversea sister university or study for two degrees, and meanwhile, connect with businesses actively, have an internship and improve the ability on career. In order to improve students’ ability on career, Nanhua University promoted internship courses comprehensively. Now, there are 80 well-known company signed the industry-university cooperation with Nanhua University and the future goal for Nanhua University is 100 company. Through the complete and perfect internship, students can improve their professional skills. President Lin mentioned that Nanhua University invigorates a life by another life and the University devotes to cultivate students to obtain 3 abilities, vitality, international mobility, and career competitiveness and become excellent talented people who are businesses’ favorite.
